This Privacy Policy explains how Ayush Singh ("we", "us", "Thred") handles information in connection with the Thred desktop application (the "App") and the Thred website at thred.qzz.io (the "Site").

1. The short version

  • The App is local-first. Thred has no backend and no user account. Your AI sessions, vault data, notes, and settings are stored only on your own device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to them.
  • Each AI service is independent. When you sign in to an AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) inside Thred, that happens directly between you and that provider in an isolated webview. We never read, store, or transmit your credentials or session tokens. Those providers' own privacy policies apply to your use of their services.
  • The Site is minimal. The website does not use cookies, analytics, or authentication.

2. Information we do NOT collect (the App)

  • AI conversations, prompts, or responses
  • Vault contents (prompts, responses, code snippets, screenshots)
  • Notes, todos, or other tool data
  • Login credentials for any AI service
  • Browsing activity inside webviews

All of the above remain local to your device. We have no access to your local data and cannot recover it.

3. Information we may collect (the Site)

Only when you choose to contact us:

  • Feedback / bug reports: the content you submit, plus any optional email, OS, and app version you provide.
  • Email contact: if you email us directly, we receive your email address and message content.

The Site does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking technologies.

4. How we use information

  • Respond to feedback and bug reports
  • Improve the product based on feedback
  • Communicate with you if you contacted us directly

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Sharing & processors

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except:

  • GitHub: bug reports submitted via GitHub Issues are subject to GitHub's privacy policy.
  • Email provider: emails we receive are processed by our email service provider.

6. Data retention

We keep feedback and email correspondence only as long as needed to respond and improve the product. Bug reports on GitHub are retained per GitHub's policies.

7. Your rights

You may request that we delete any personal data we hold (e.g. email correspondence). Contact us at legal@thred.qzz.io.

8. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
